Krishna Flow is built to keep as little of your data around as possible. This page explains what is sent where, what happens to it, and what stays on your device.
What gets sent, and where
When you dictate, your audio is sent to the transcription provider you've chosen in Settings, either Groq or OpenAI, to turn it into text. If cleanup is switched on, the raw transcript is then sent to a language model (on the same provider) to remove fillers and false starts, apply your self-corrections, and tidy punctuation. Nothing else leaves your device during dictation: no analytics payload, no background telemetry.
Groq and OpenAI, as processors
Groq and OpenAI act as data processors: they receive the audio or text you send them for the sole purpose of returning a result, under their own terms and privacy policies. Krishna Flow does not control their infrastructure and cannot make retention promises on their behalf beyond what they themselves publish. Krishna Flow does not store your audio, on either provider's side or its own.
If you use a Krishna Flow account instead of your own key, the same principle applies: your audio and text pass through a transcription and cleanup provider to produce your result, and Krishna Flow does not keep the audio afterwards.
What stays local
Your dictation history, the cleaned text, timings and word counts, lives only on your device, in Krishna Flow's local application data. It is never uploaded anywhere. You can search it, copy from it, delete individual entries, or clear it entirely, at any time, from the dashboard.
Custom vocabulary and settings
Any custom vocabulary you add (names or brands you want spelled correctly) and your other settings, such as your chosen hotkey and language, are also stored only on your device and are sent along with your dictation solely to help the model transcribe accurately.
Your API key
If you bring your own Groq or OpenAI key, it is stored securely on your device (in the system Keychain on macOS, and the equivalent secure store on Windows) and used only to authenticate your own requests to that provider.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any material way, the date at the top of this page will change too. Continuing to use Krishna Flow after an update means you accept the revised policy.
